Don Harrington Discovery Center hosts new fall exhibit

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

The Don Harrington Discovery Center is opening a new exhibit for families is fall.

If you've ever wanted to travel to places like Paris, Hawaii or San Francisco, Travel Adventure can transport you there.

Children can build their dream mode of transportation and dress up in costumes to match.

This hands-on learning will allow the creativity of young adventurers to roam free as they explore terrain from destinations all over the world.

"It lets them use their imagination, which basically is really great because using creativity and learning and using hand manipulation is a great way to learn," said Executive Director of DCHS Dr. Aaron Pan. "And again, it's one of our favorite building blocks that you get to use, so we're real excited about it."

The exhibit will open Friday for members only and Saturday for all. It runs through January 9th.

  • Members Only Preview, Friday, Sept. 29, 7:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m
  • Opening Day: Saturday, Sept. 30, 9:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m

After opening weekend, Travel Adventure will follow the regular hours of operation.
