SHAMROCK, TX (KFDA) - Shamrock Volunteer Firefighter James Moya, who was injured fighting in the wildfires in March, was honored for his heroism and tenacity while fighting the wildfires.

On Tuesday, Texas Representative Drew Springer presented James and Frank Moya with House Resolutions 1761 written in their names honoring them for fighting in the wildfires that happened in March.

"Words cannot describe how proud I am of my husband for how far he's come, and his heart for serving others," said James' wife Alisha Moya. "Also extremely grateful my father-in-law was there that day to serve Jame and bring him home safe to us!"

James was injured during a blaze in Wheeler County. He was operating a motor grader when he sustained burns to 30 percent of his body and was transported to the Lubbock Burn Unit.
