An overnight standoff has ended with one man in custody.

Amarillo police were called to a residence in the 4100 block of South Hughes looking for 42 year old Jerald Garcia.

Garcia was wanted out of Randall County on a felony warrant for burglary.

Officers contacted others inside the home who confirmed Garcia was there.

The officers were also told he did have access to a firearm and was a danger to himself and others.

Just after midnight the APD SWAT team was called to the scene.

Negotiators were able to make contact with Garcia but he refused to come out of the residence.

At 4:05 chemical irritants were introduced into the home, then a minute later Garcia surrendered to police and was taken into custody.

Garcia was booked into the Randall County jail.
