AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Police say malfunctioning phones from a local business office caused the disruption of emergency lines Thursday morning.
Lines have since returned to normal but the Amarillo Police Department says it is unsure of the cause of the rapid 911 dialing at the business.
APD made contact with multiple company officials and the phones were eventually disconnected. It's estimated the three lines flooded the call center with more than 450 calls.
Police say they are unaware of any emergency calls not being answered due to the malfunction.
