AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - If you've ever wanted to give your two cents to the Amarillo Police Department, here's your chance.
Beginning Monday, March 20, the APD will invite citizens of Amarillo to take part in the department's first survey to assess the public's opinion of the quality of service provided by the Amarillo Police Department. The survey will also gather public input in deciding how the department will focus resources on future efforts to provide police service.
This is the first survey of this type conducted by the department. Surveys such as these are considered "best practices" for law enforcement agencies. The results of this initial survey will be used as a baseline for future surveys.
The survey consists of sixteen questions and takes about five minutes to complete. The responses are completely confidential. The survey will be available online from 8:00 a.m. on March 20 through March 27.
If you would prefer to answer survey questions on a paper form rather than online, call the Amarillo Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit at 378-4257 and request a paper copy of the survey. A copy of the survey and a stamped return envelope will be mailed to you. Or, you can pick up a copy of the survey and a postage paid envelope at the first floor window of the Amarillo Police Department, 200 SE 3rd Avenue, 79101. The Department is at the corner of 3rd and S. Taylor.
If you'd like to take the survey online but don't have computer access, you can visit any Amarillo Public Library and use a direct link to the survey on the library's public computers.
The APD will be accepting mailed responses postmarked through March 27. Results of the survey will be presented when it is completed.
