APD looking for possible victim of domestic violence incident

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a possible domestic violence situation.

Around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, APD officer were sent to the intersection of southeast 12th and Cleveland. Witnesses told police they say a Hispanic female get out of a four door, gray Pontiac Grand Am.

The female began running from the car and the driver drove up on the curb in what appeared to be an attempt to run her over. The car hit a fence but missed the female.

Witnesses say the female ran down south on Cleveland Street and the driver left the car and chased the female down on foot. According to police, once the suspect caught the female, he put her back in the car and left the scene.

Amarillo Police describe the suspect as a thin Hispanic male with short black hair. Witnesses could not give a year model on the vehicle, but did notice that it had a factory spoiler on the trunk.

The vehicle might have scratches on the front end from hitting the fence. Witnesses heard the female make a remark to the male that makes officers believe this is a domestic violence situation.

The APD does not know who the victim or suspect are and are asking anyone who may have information on this incident to call the police department at 378-3038.
