One male in custody after SWAT call in North Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A local man is in jail after reportedly trying to set a building on fire while someone was inside.

On March 8around 9:00 a.m., APD officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of North Wilson Street on a domestic incident.

The victim told officers that she was having an argument with 30-year-old Javier Delgado.

During the incident, she ran into a back house on the property to get away from Delgado.

She said Delgado then started he poured gasoline on the building that she was in and threatened to light it.

When the officers arrived, Delgado went into the front house on the property and refused to come out.

The female was moved safely away from the incident and was uninjured.

Delgado was found to have a Potter County warrant for Criminal Mischief and two local municipal warrants.

APD SWAT and negotiators were called to the scene around 10:00 a.m.

Delgado came out of the residence and surrendered around 11:30 a.m.

He was arrested for his warrants and also charged with Aggravated Assault.

He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
