Area man found guilty of Assault on a Public Servant

MOORE COUNTY, TX (KFDA) -

An area man has been found guilty by a jury, in the 69th District Court of Moore County, of two counts of Assault on a Public Servant.

On June 7, 2016, Moore County deputies were dispatched to a disturbance about three miles west of Dumas, at a residence south of Highway 87.

While on scene, Deputy McCurley and DPS Trooper Heider, who had responded to a call, were both assaulted by 30-year-old Adam Granado.

During the altercation, Granado struck Heider on the leg with a builder’s framing square and later pinned McCurley’s arm against a vehicle cage while fighting to resist arrest.

Judge Ron Enns ordered a presentencing investigation be conducted and will set a date for sentencing.
