AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Salvation Army is wrapping up it's Angel Tree gift program and is looking for volunteers to help with the distribution process.
It is the last step in completing the Christmas Assistance program distributing the gifts to those in need.
There were almost 2000 children on the Angel Tree this year and thousands of gifts came back for children in our community.
"When you're dealing with thousands of kids that's a lot of gifts to put together in the the family bags," says Major Harvey Johnson of the Salvation Army, "We also have some bicycles that need to be put together and we want to make sure everything is just right."
They need as many organizations, church groups, and individuals to help organize and distribute all of the gifts received from our generous community.
The organization needs help with distribution set-up, helping to put bikes together, and organizing clothes and toys.
Volunteers are asked to come to the Rex Baxter building at 3301 SE 10th Ave. throughout the week. If you would like to volunteer call 806-373-6631.
