BORGER, TX (KFDA) - Over 50 firefighters from different areas across the Panhandle wrapped up their 2-day Fire Summit in Borger.
Fire officials from Dumas, Pampa, Amarillo, and even Lubbock were there for the event.
Day one focused on city administration, community leaders, and fire mitigation. There were also several presenters from the National Park Service, National Weather Service, and Texas A&M Forest Services.
Day two focused more on fire tactics, building networks, and working together with other fire departments to tackle huge blazes. Borger Emergency Management Coordinator, Jason Whisler, says this was a great way to connect with other departments.
