WHEELER COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - An elderly man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday on the service road of IH-40 in Wheeler County. The wreck happened on I-40 about four miles west of Shamrock around 6:13 p.m.
DPS Troopers say 88-year-old Kenneth Fourier, of Mclean, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala west on the IH-40 service road when he moved over into the eastbound lane to pass a vehicle traveling westbound in front of him and collided head on into a pickup truck driven by 34-year-old Justin Moore.
Kenneth Fourier was transported to the Shamrock General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead by Dr. Michael Bennington.
The passenger in the Impala, 87-year-old Wanda Fourier,of Mclean, was also transported to the Shamrock General Hospital where she is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Moore was transported to the Shamrock General Hospital where he was treated and released.
Kenneth Fourier and Moore were not wearing seat belts. Wanda Fourier was wearing her seat belt.
The road conditions were dry and no other vehicles were involved.
