CARSON COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - The Texas Department of Public Safety two California residents face felony drug charges after nearly $1 million worth of cocaine was found during a traffic stop on Interstate 40.
A state trooper reportedly stopped Luisana Acosta, 31, and Jamie Rios, 45, near Conway for a traffic violation on Nov. 19. The trooper discovered six plastic-wrapped packages of cocaine, worth $923,000, inside the rear doors.
Authorities say 15 pounds of the narcotic were seized.
Troopers believe the drugs were being transported from Los Angeles to Philadelphia.
Both occupants were booked into the Carson County jail on possession of a controlled substance charges.
