DPS teams up with Toys for Tots

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) in the Texas Panhandle has once again collaborated with Toys for Tots, a national charitable organization that collects toys to give to needy children in the Texas Panhandle.

Teaming up with DPS to collect toys this year is Jack Sizemore Traveland. This year there will be a special "Toy Hauler" travel trailer set up at Jack Sizemore Traveland where people can easily drop off their donated toys. The goal is to fill the Toy Hauler Travel Trailer with toys.

DPS ask that toys remain in their original packaging. Toys for children ages 0-2 and 12-17 of either gender are in the most demand. Some examples of appropriate toys for the 0-2 range are teething rings, plush toys, ring towers or anything that would stimulate their senses.

For more information on Toys for Tots, please visit their website at http://www.toysfortots.org or contact Lieutenant Beth Watson or Sergeant Chris Ray with DPS.

Residents are invited to donate toys at:
