AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Open enrollment for health care coverage is open now, and there are around 77,000 people in the Texas Panhandle who are uninsured.
To try to lower this number, Panhandle Community Services will be hosting 23 enrollment events across the Panhandle.
Open enrollment for health coverage will end Jan. 31, 2017.
Residents who cannot make an event can call any of the locations listed to make an appointment.
Any adult who does not have health insurance by next year will see about a $600 penalty charge on their next tax statement.
