BUSHLAND, TX (KFDA) -

Atmos Energy said a contractor performing work on Bushland Road Monday morning hit and broke a gas line that runs directly to the town's elementary school, but law enforcement on scene describe the situation as being under control.

Multiple crews, including the Potter County Sheriff's Office and the county's fire department, are currently on scene inspecting the damage to the line. The scene itself is about a block away from the elementary school.

Atmost said one other house in the area lost service.

Superintendent Don Wood said students are being kept inside as the investigation into the broken line continues.

The line only services the school. Officials say no other buildings in the area should expect a disruption.
