BUSHLAND, TX (KFDA) - That's one life-long wish fulfilled Because for Bushland High School senior, Trace George, Flex-- the school's fierce and buff mascot is so much more than just a costume.
"I love Bushland," said George. "I'm happy. It's a dream come true."
He's a big fan of Bushland and his school and Friday night Trace gets to pep up the crowd for Bushland's 'Senior Night' football game as Flex -- thanks to some students and teachers who are big fans of Trace.
"He will be shy at times but most of the time he's running after someone, jumping around, telling a story," said fellow senior and friend, Bailee Rexrode. "He always wants to know how the game went and who won. He's very involved in the school and he loves being a Falcon."
Trace has Cerebral Palsy and Rexrode wanted to make his big wish come true.
So, she got ahold of some teachers and cheerleaders to make it happen.
"I wanted not only him to get this experience but for other kids with special needs to be able to look at Trace and see that it's an option for anyone and they can do anything that anyone else can," said Rexrode.
Some say Trace was the best Falcon out there because school spirit like this doesn't come around very often.
Bushland won the game 50- 15 against the Denver City Mustangs, which made Senior Night even more special for the Seniors, and especially for Trace.
