HANSFORD COUNTY, TX (KFDA) -

Don't believe everything you see on the internet.

Hansford County Sheriff Tim Glass says rumors of a Spearman man's death are untrue, despite a photo circulating on Facebook that suggests otherwise.

The post claims longtime resident Terry Irlbeck, fondly-remembered as 'Chicken,' was shot 20 times and recently found dead by local authorities. The post also suggests Irlbeck's death could be linked to Michael Vance, an actual wanted fugitive last seen in Oklahoma Sunday.

Glass says his office has received numerous inquires about Irlbeck, who was actually located safe a short time after the post initially reached his desk.

"The Hansford County Sheriff Department is not working any (homicides) at this time, nor have we received any calls from other agencies to notify any family in Hansford County regarding a (homicide)," Glass said.
