DPS Trooper discovers $3.49 million worth of drugs after traffic stop

CARSON COUNTY, TX (KFDA) -

Over 37 pounds of methamphetamine and over four pounds of cocaine were seized Wednesday afternoon after a DPS trooper stopped a vehicle traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation.

The trooper discovered wrapped packages of methamphetamine and cocaine hidden inside a compartment within the firewall. The drugs are worth approximately $3.49 million.


 
The driver, 40-year-old Rommel Osuna Fornez, and passenger, 43-year-old Guadalupe Enriquez Parra, both of Victorville, Calif., were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. They both were transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
 
DPS says the drugs were being transported from Victorville, Calif., to West Point, Miss.
