AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

Two area law agencies seized nearly 100 pounds of marijuana during recent traffic stops near Amarillo.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says more than 50 pounds of marijuana were found inside an eastbound vehicle traveling on SH-287 near Clarendon Tuesday afternoon. The reporting trooper said the narcotics, valued around $303,000, were discovered in several plastic-wrapped packages hidden inside large duffle bags.

The driver, Rueben Ramdeo, of Houston, and his passenger, Miguel Vasquez, of San Angelo, were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Both were booked inside the Donley County jail.

Earlier Tuesday, the Potter County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 40 and reportedly found 23 pounds of marijuana concealed inside the vehicle. Authorities valued those drugs around $80,000.

The driver, Qujuana Reed, of Stockbridge, Georgia, was arrested for a third-degree felony and booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
