Two men in custody after shots fired in N. Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Two men are in custody after shots were fired in N. Amarillo.

Thursday, Oct. 20, Amarillo police were called to NW 15th and N. Jefferson when they saw Deron Ladae Castle running from the front yard of a residence and throwing what appeared to be a handgun.

Castle was caught by officers and detained. The item retrieved was confirmed to be a handgun. Police confirmed that Castle was firing the handgun into the air and there were no injuries.

A check on Castle showed he was a convicted felon. He was placed under arrest for Discharging a Firearm in a Municipality and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

One of the other men on scene, Jimmie Earl Granviel, was found to have an active Parole Warrant and was placed under arrest.

Both men were booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
