CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) - Authorities have arrested a man accused of killing his mother's husband inside a Clovis home early Tuesday morning.
Ricky Goodman, 42, was booked into the Curry County Detention Center overnight after police found Jimmy Stotts, 61, dead inside a residence in the 1800 block of E. Howard Street.
Police were dispatched to the home just after midnight. The Clovis Police Department said Stotts was not breathing when they arrived. Stotts' wife said he and Goodman were involved in an altercation earlier in the evening, according to police.
Goodman was located an hour and a half later at a separate residence and reportedly told police he attacked Stotts with a knife.
He is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
