Clovis recruiting for Explorers program

CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) - The Clovis Police Department is currently recruiting for the 2017 Clovis Police Explorers Program.

This 12-month program is for boys and girls that are at least 14 years of age, but no older than 18 years of age.

During the program, participants will explore several law enforcement related topics, not just police work. Topics include patrolling, investigations, and narcotic duties.

Defense and prosecution attorneys will speak about courtroom procedures. There will also be demonstrations from SWAT, criminal forensics, traffic enforcement, K-9, and emergency driving.

Classroom instruction and practical's will be conducted one evening and one Saturday per month. Explorers will assist with several events and programs throughout the year, including National Night Out, Fourth of July, and many more.

If you or your child are interested in becoming a Police Explorer, please come by the Clovis Police Department and complete an application of interest. Application located at the records division.
