'Don't Look Away' luncheon to raise domestic violence awareness

Family Support Services is hosting several events this month as part of Domestic Violence Awareness month and today is their 'Don't Look Away' luncheon at Amarillo College.

On average nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S. and Family Support Services is working to raise awareness.

Family Support Services is partnering with Mary Kay cosmetics to host the 'Don't Look Away' luncheon this morning. The event is open to the public and will include free food, community booths, a self defense demonstration and speakers discussing what can be done to prevent domestic violence. 

There will have several speakers at the event, survivors of domestic violence who will tell their story, tell the real story of Domestic Violence in our own community.
