POTTER COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - A grand jury has indicted an Amarillo man accused of injuring two police officers at a child's birthday party in June, according to the Potter County District Attorney's Office.
Raul Ramirez faces charges of evading arrest and taking a weapon from an Amarillo Police Department officer, both 3rd degree felonies.
The charges stem from a June 4 incident in which Ramirez reportedly fought with officers who were called to the party because of his drunken behavior, according to police.
A stun gun the officers used to try and subdue Ramirez was ineffective, and police say Ramirez later took the other officer's stun gun during the fight. Additional officers eventually arrived on scene and helped arrest Ramirez and book him into jail.
APD says one officer suffered a broken arm and the other sustained a head injury.
