PORTALES, N.M. (KFDA) - A Portales man behind a series of burglaries earlier this year has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison.
Gustav Jimenez, 34, pleaded no contest Thursday to aggravated fleeing law enforcement, four total counts of burglary and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced to 16-and-a-half years in prison.
Court records show the burglaries happened throughout Clovis and Portales.
County deputies arrested Jimenez on Jan. 7 after a high speed chase that ended with Jimenez crashing a stolen vehicle.
The Honorable Donna J. Mowrer presided over Thursday's hearing.
