BORGER, TX (KFDA) - Borger police have arrested a man they believe shot another man earlier this week.
On Friday, Sept. 30, Borger police arrested 32-year-old Jarred Thomas Hooper, after an arrest warrant was issued out of the 316th District Court charging him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
This arrest follows a lengthy investigation into the Tuesday shooting on Kiekbush, in which Hooper allegedly exchanged gunfire with 31-year-old Adolph Gilbert Castillo.
Hooper was arrested without incident at his residence.
The complaint filed with the court states that according to witnesses, Hooper arrived by vehicle at the residence on Kiekbush and the shooting between Hooper and Castillo ensued.
According to statements and evidence, Hooper arrived on scene following an argument and vague threats directed to a third party, via cell phone.
Police say Hooper fired shots from the street/driveway, while Castillo returned fire from the porch of the residence.
Castillo was struck multiple times and Hooper was struck once, but neither party sustained life threatening injuries.
Hooper was booked into the Hutchinson County jail and is awaiting arraignment.
