AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo's Rick Husband International Airport will be raising their parking fees.
After a study completed by Republic Parking, the contractor responsible for the management and operation of the public parking area of Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, new parking rates at the airport will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
The revenue generated by the changes in parking rates will fund improvements to the public parking garage and surface lots located at the airport.
The new parking rates are as follows:
* Outdoor Parking – $7 per day (was $6 a day)
* Preferred Parking Lot – $8 per day (was $7 a day)
* Garage Parking – $10 per day (was $8 a day)
"These changes in parking rates will aid the Airport to fund needed improvements to the passenger parking facilities," Acting Director of Aviation Tyler Hurst said. "While the per day parking rates are changing, the first 30 minutes in the Preferred Parking lot will remain free for those picking up or dropping off travelers."
Republic Parking will begin installing new signs detailing the parking rate changes Friday evening.
