Police continue to investigate shots fired in NW Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

Amarillo police continue to investigate shots fired in the vicinity of Northwest 12th  and N. Van Buren Street.

Wednesday around 8:56 a.m. officers were dispatched to the area of NW 12th and N. Van Buren on gun shots being heard in the area.

A construction crew in the area heard shots and saw bullets striking near them.  At 9:12 a.m. the officers were near the intersection at NW 12th and Jackson when they heard further gunshots. The officers could hear the bullets striking near them. No one was injured during this incident and no bullet strikes were located on any of the patrol vehicles.

APD and SWAT responded to look for who was shooting and narrowed the search down to a residence in the 1100 block of North Harrison. Shell casings were located in the yard of the residence.

Several people were interviewed and released. No arrests have been made at this time.
