AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo police have arrested a man believed to have held five convenience store employees at knifepoint during a string of aggravated robberies overnight Monday.
Deng Peter Bol, 19, was arrested after the fifth alleged robbery and booked into the Randall County jail.
Authorities say the first robbery happened just before midnight at the Toot 'N' Totum located at 2601 Paramount Blvd. Police believe Deng entered the store and threatened an employee inside before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Similar incidents occurred at three other Toot 'N' Totums and a Cefco between midnight and 2:30 a.m., according to the Amarillo Police Department. Amarillo officer Jeb Hilton said customers in two of the locations saw Bol's robbery attempt and chased him out of the store before he could take any money.
An Amarillo officer reported watching Bol enter the fifth location and then confronting him after he left the store. A foot chase ensued and Bol was arrested near 34th and Atkinson St.
None of the employees were injured during the robberies.
