Police arrest man involved in recent infant shooting

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

Police have arrested 28-year-old John Keith Lusk the man involved in a recent shooting that injured an infant. 

On Sept. 16, APD officers developed information on a possible suspect in the recent shooting that occurred at the PD Smoke Shop at 2714 SW 34th Ave.

At 1:35 p.m. SWAT and PACE officers located the subject driving a vehicle in the 2700 block of Westhaven.

A traffic stop was initiated for a traffic violation committed by the driver, John Lusk. The subject continued to drive and threw two firearms out of the vehicle before coming to a stop at 22nd and Parker.

Lusk was found to be a convicted felon. He was placed under arrest for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and a Parole Violation.

He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and a Parole Violation Warrant.

The shooting case remains under investigation, and the infant involved in the shooting appears to be in stable condition at the time of this release.
