Fort Hood Lieutenant's death under investigation

FORT HOOD, TX (KFDA) - -

The death surrounding a Fort Hood Lieutenant remains under investigation. 

Fort Hood officials have released the name of the Soldier who was found unresponsive in his residence 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13. 

2nd Lieutenant Andrew J. Hunt, 23, was pronounced deceased by Dr. Martin Kelly at 9 p.m. Sept. 13 at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. 

Hunt's home of record is listed as Bexar County, Texas, entered active-duty military service in May 2015.

He was assigned to 6th Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since September 2016.

Hunt's awards and decorations include Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
