The Texas Department of Public Safety seized more than 10 pounds of meth Sunday evening after a Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
The Trooper stopped a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg, traveling east on I-40 near Conway, for a traffic violation. The trooper discovered six plastic-wrapped packages of methamphetamine inside a false compartment in the rear cargo area and four plastic-wrapped packages inside the rear driver-side door. The drugs are valued at approximately $871,000.
30-year-old Danny Luna and 22-year-old Alehandro Cruiel of Compton, Calif., were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. They were booked into the Carson County jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from California to Alabama.
