RANDALL COUNTY, TX (KFDA) - Authorities say Friday multiple narcotics totaling nearly $15,000 in value were found during a recent traffic stop in Randall County.
A county deputy pulled over Chase Carpenter, 19, at the end of August near Southgate Mobile Park in Amarillo. Officials said the deputy asked Carpenter for permission to search the vehicle but was declined.
A K-9 unit was called to the scene and alerted law enforcement to nearly 40 grams of narcotics including cocaine, marijuana, and hashish. More than 2,000 Xanax pills, a handgun and $3,000 were also found during the search, officials said.
Public Information Officer Danny Alexander said the deputy was performing surveillance of the mobile park because of a tip received from a resident in the area.
Carpenter was booked into the Randall County jail on several charges. He posted a bond of $72,000.
