One woman is dead after a hit and run in South Amarillo early Sunday morning.
The wreck happened at 45th and Georgia, just after 12:20 a.m.
Amarillo Police says 32-year-old Aisling Martinez was southbound on Georgia when she was struck by a white truck that fled the scene.
Officer were able to locate the suspect, 24-year-old Trevor Dee Boales, a short time after the wreck.
Martinez was taken to a local area hospital, but later died of injuries received in the collision. Justice of the Peace, Debbie Horn, has ordered an autopsy.
Boales was booked into Randall County Sheriff’s Office Jail for Intoxicated Manslaughter and Accident causing Injury or Death.
The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
