AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - With the Labor Day weekend approaching, the Amarillo Police Department will be increasing traffic enforcement.
A grant received from the Texas Department of Transportation will allow officers to be on patrol enforcing traffic laws over the weekend. They will be out looking for seat belt, speed, and alcohol related violations.
Police expect to see more cars on the road because of holiday travel, and feel there is a better chance of an accident occurring.
They ask everyone to drive safely and to refrain from drinking and driving.
