Former classmate launches crowd funding page for Clovis Police Officer Chris Caron

CLOVIS, N.M. (KFDA) -

As a Clovis Police Officer recovers from being shot, a former classmate has launched a crowd funding page for him.

Police said Officer Chris Caron was shot by 34-year-old Anthony Baca after the officer attempted to arrest him. Police set up a perimeter to locate him and say this situation is unusual for the City of Clovis. Officials are asking anyone who sees Baca to call authorities. They are warning people not to approach the man as he is presumed to be armed and dangerous.

A former classmate of Officer Caron is hoping to gather donations through Crowdrise to be given to the Officer. He is currently at home recovering.  So far, the page has received more than $500 in donations.
