A couple suspected of kidnapping three children in California on Sunday, are now in police custody.
Authorities caught up with Joshua Aaron Robertson and Brittany Humphrey in Pueblo, Colorado on Thursday.
"The officers said that they were doing a patrol check at a local motel, that's when they came in contact with Brittany. Upon contacting Brittany then they became aware that Joshua Robertson was a couple of blocks away. The police officers then responded to that area where they detained Joshua and they took him into custody," said Lt. Joe Mendoza, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept.
Police say all of the children are safe.
They were found Wednesday at a motel in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the care of someone police called a good samaritan.
Investigators are also questioning the couple in the death of the kidnapped children's mother, Kimberly Harvill.
She was found shot to death earlier this month. The victim is Humphrey's sister.
