AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - UPDATE: The Amarillo Police Department has identified the suspect in this case as 30-year-old Adrian Rashod Scott.

From the investigation and video from the store, police believe Scott is the suspect who pointed a gun at the employee of the Dollar General.

When officers found Scott, he was reportedly in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.

Scott had a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon out of Potter County and had an active protective order against him for the female who he was with at the house.

He was arrested for his warrant, Violation of a Protective Order, Aggravated Assault with A Deadly Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.

The woman was released and the investigation into the possible theft continues.

No weapon was found.


APD officers continues to investigate an armed robbery in north Amarillo.

On Aug. 23, officers were dispatched to the Dollar General at 1430 Amarillo Blvd. West. When they arrived, an employee said they thought a male and female were stealing from the store.

During the incident the employee said he followed the suspects out of the store and then the male suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the employee. He told the employee to get away from him or he would shoot, and then the employee went back inside.

Officers later located the suspect's 2007 Chevrolet Impala in the 1600 block of North West 19th Ave.

A male and female matching the description of the suspects were inside of the residence and were detained.
