AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -

Amarillo Police are searching for a group of suspects who allegedly hit a 51 year- old woman with a car and stole her purse.

Police say an early 90’s model faded red four door Lincoln Town Car was roaming around the Walmart parking lot on Canyon Drive around 4:30 Sunday afternoon. The victim stated that she was pushing her shopping cart out to her car when the car started to race toward her.

The vehicle struck her cart and caused her to fall to the ground. A male in the back seat of the car grabbed the victim’s purse out of the shopping cart and the car left.

A witness followed the suspects car to the area of SW 44th and Fannin. The back passenger got out of the vehicle at this location and pointed a gun at the witness. He told the witness to quit following them or he would be shot. The witness left the area and went back to the Wal-Mart to speak with police.

Police say there were 2 Hispanic females in the front seat and 3 Hispanic men in the back.

The woman who was hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No arrests have been made.
