AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo police officers are searching for a man they believe was involved in a home robbery.
Around midnight on Aug. 17, officers responded to a reported robbery in a home in the 4600 block of South Travis.
The victim, a 21-year-old male, told officers that he was in the living room of his house when he heard a loud noise at the back door. He walked into the kitchen and saw that his back door had been forced open.
According to the victim the suspect, an armed black male in his 20s wearing a black shirt and black athletic shorts, pushed him down on the couch, hit him in the head with his fist, and demanded money.
Officers say the victim told his attacker that his money was in his car and believes the suspect called someone who was apparently outside. However, the accomplice reported that no money has been found.
Fearing he would be shot the victim gave the suspect cash that he had in the home, his phone, and car keys. Then the suspect reportedly left the home, jumped over the back fence, and then headed south in the alley.
Police say the suspect got into a white Chevrolet that was driven by a White or Hispanic female.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
