Authorities say one person is in custody for making threats at a Love's Struck Stop on Interstate 40 just outside Amarillo on Sunday.
Ray Brorman, 33, reportedly told a clerk at the store to call 911 around 6:45 p.m. before leaving the store. Brorman reportedly said he had weapons and wanted to hurt law enforcement officers because of a previous prison sentence he had received.
Personnel from the Potter County and Oldham County Sheriff's Offices, with help from the Texas Department of Public Safety, responded to the scene and took Brorman into custody around 8 p.m.
Traffic was blocked near the area until authorities were able to arrest Broman, causing cars to back up on the busy interstate for a short time.
Broman was booked into the Potter County Detention Center without further incident on a terroristic threat charge, a third-degree felony.
