AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Authorities have arrested a man for reportedly approaching a woman outside of an Amarillo clothing store and touching her leg.
The victim told police Zachary Quentin Marks struck up a conversation with her outside of Ross Dress for Less in southwest Amarillo Sunday. At some point during the encounter, she said Marks reached out and touched her calf. After she back away from him, he again reached out and touched her thigh.
The 30-year-old is charged with assault by contact, a Class C misdemeanor. Police described the incident as contact regarded as offensive or provocative.
Marks's arrest is officially on just one charge, but police say several other instances are still under investigation. Authorities are gathering more details on a harassment call made by a different woman Monday night in which Marks was identified as the suspect, and a separate complaint was made Tuesday by a woman who said Marks approached her outside of a grocery store.
Marks was booked into the Randall County Jail.
