AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo Police Department SWAT officers responded to a tip from a Gray County deputy about a wanted fugitive in Pampa which yielded the arrest of Tyson Pounds without incident.
The tip was sent early in the morning on Wednesday when the deputy saw Pounds flee into his home. Authorities say he barricaded himself in the attic and asked APD SWAT to come to the scene for additional help.
SWAT entered the residence around 1 a.m. and found that Pounds was not inside his home.
Early Thursday morning a tip was received from a citizen regarding Pounds's whereabouts. Deputies responded and were able to arrest Pounds without any incident.
Pounds is charged with felony offenses of prohibited weapon (short-barreled firearm), unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.
