CLOVIS, NM (KFDA) - A Clovis man is being held on a $100,000 bond after stabbing and kidnapping a woman from a Clovis home early Wednesday, according to the Clovis Police Department.
Police believe Robert Sena, armed with a knife and firearm, forcibly entered a home in the 500 block of West 11th St. and fought with an unidentified female and male inside. According to police, Sena, 26, stabbed both of the victims during the ensuing struggle and took the female from the home.
Around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, police say a vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign at 9th and Prince. The driver, believed to be Sena, evaded police and eventually crashed through a fence near Grand and Industrial. The woman was found inside the vehicle with 23 stab wounds to her body, including her right hand, hip, wrist, bicep and neck. She was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas.
The victim's mother said the hospital contacted her to let her know of her daughter's injuries.
"The nurse called me earlier this morning and said she has just gotten out of surgery," Irma Jamie said. "She lost a lot of blood but she was stable for now."
Jamie said her daughter knows Sena. She said the two had an 'incident' last week, and her daughter has since been on the run from him.
The victim's husband, the unidentified 28-year-old male, lives with his mother, who said she woke up around the time Sena reportedly forced his way in the house.
"I got up and went in there and (Sena) had a gun pointed at (the victims), and he wanted to take her with him," Martha Castillo said.
Castillo said she saw her son get stabbed 4 times in front of her grandkids.
"Then he wanted the car keys so we gave them to him and he got the cell phone and finally left," Castillo added. "I just started praying to send angels to protect her and thank God they caught him."
Sena was taken into custody around 7:45 a.m., according to police. He faces charges of Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery on a household member, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Fleeing of a Law Enforcement Officer, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
He is being held in detention in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, on a $100,000 cash only bond.
