Potter County assistant attorney retires

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - First Assistant Potter County Attorney David Kemp announced Monday he will be retiring after thirty years of service.

Potter County Judge Nancy Tanner presented Kemp with an award for his long time service to the county at Monday's Commissioners' Court.

Kemp said he is excited to spend some time with his family, including a new grandchild on the way. He said what he will miss most is the people he has come to know over the years. "The people are really great. We have lots of good elected officials and department heads here and employees. It has been my pleasure, but the time was right, I was ready," said Kemp.

Potter County Attorney Scott Brumley has chosen long time civil attorney Tad Fowler to fill Kemp's seat. Fowler himself brings 34 years of experience to the table and his first day serving with the Commissioners' Court will be May 2.
