AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - On Apr. 23, police were dispatched to the 4200 block of South Parker on two burglaries.
Officers tracked the stolen items to a house in the 4200 block of South Travis. Police say Stacy Lynn Lanier, 27, was in the home and was detained.
After further investigation police found the items belonging to the original victims from the burglaries on Parker and several identifiers belonging to other people.
Lanier was placed under arrest for alleged fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.
He was put in the back of the patrol car while officers returned to the house to investigate the stolen property. During that time police say Jennifer East, 34, let Lanier out of the patrol car.
Both fled on foot, but were quickly caught in the 4200 block of South Travis.
East was charged with escape hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felony.
Lanier was charged with escape while arrested/confined for a felony, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, and a warrant for possession of a controlled substance pg1 greater than or equal to 1 gram and less than 4 grams.
Both were booked into the Randall County Jail.
During the investigation police also found a Pontiac G6 in the yard that was reported stolen on Mar. 30. The license plate on the vehicle was found to be stolen on Apr. 12.
The stolen vehicle and the burglaries remain under investigation.
