AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) -  A man accused of causing a SWAT standoff in Amarillo two weeks ago is now in custody.

Police arrested Aaron Willie Jones for public intoxication early Monday morning. According to reports, Jones was walking and stumbling beside the roadway near Amarillo Blvd. and N. Lamar. Police say Jones did not have identification and gave the arresting officer two different names.

Once police brought Jones to the Potter County Detention Center, they found he was the wanted suspect from the April 5 standoff in the 200 block of NW 15th.

Jones was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a parole warrant, failure to identify while a fugitive from justice and public intoxication.

The detective assigned to the case continues to investigate and no additional charges have been filed at this time.
