AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Texas state troopers say a coast-to-coast drug run was cut short after a traffic stop in our area.
At around 1:21 a.m. Saturday, troopers say they stopped an SUV traveling east on Interstate 40 near Conway for a traffic violation.
The trooper conducting the stop says they conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered two large duffel bags filled with vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana.
They say the drugs, all-together weighing 50 pounds, are worth more than $303,000.
The driver, 47 year-old Truong Nguyen of West Valley, Utah, was booked into the Carson County jail, charged with felony possession of marijuana.
Troopers believe Nguyen was taking the drugs from Oakland, Calif. to North Carolina.
