AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Potter County Sheriff's deputies report uncovering nearly a quarter-million dollars in methamphetamine.

In a traffic stop just west of Amarillo on Interstate 40 Tuesday afternoon, deputies say they gained consent from the driver to search his vehicle.

Inside, they say they found a dozen plastic-wrapped bundles of meth stashed throughout the vehicle, weighing around one pound each.

The drugs are valued at around $216,000.

The 65 year-old driver, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, was booked into the Randall County jail on felony drug charges.
