AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - One man is in jail for evading arrest, among other charges.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Apr. 11, Amarillo police were dispatched to the 800 block of North Nelson on a domestic disturbance call.
The suspect, 30-year-old William James Peddicord, reportedly fled the scene in a silver Chrysler 200 before police arrived. Police then learned that Peddicord had a parole warrant for dangerous drugs.
Officers searched for Peddicord throughout the night, and located him pulling into the parking lot of Walgreens at 34th and Bell around 4:53 a.m.
According to police, the suspect got out of the vehicle and entered the store. Additional officers including a police K-9 were called to the scene.
Officers made contact with Peddicord inside and he ran out the front door, but police and K-9 apprehended him in the parking lot.
Police said Peddicord was in possession of several baggies of methamphetamine, and officers found two handguns inside the car Peddicord was driving.
He was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for the parole warrant for dangerous drugs, evading arrest/detention, possession of a controlled substance, and felon in possession of a firearm.
